How to enable two-factor authentication for resellers in WHMTwo-factor
authentication is one of the excellent feature in Web Host Manager
(WHM) to secure your WHM. This protects you from unauthorized WHM login
and secure your WHM account at its best. This is quite simple and
straight forward to enable and very easy to manage as well.
Two-factor
authentication feature has enhanced your data security and enable you
to keep your WHM and cPanel account and its all data secure. By this you
can set your highly secure password for WHM and can also add a security
code to it. So whenever you try to login via password, it would also
need security code to authenticate and if this is added correctly, you
will have access else your login will be rejected.
HOW TO SET UP TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION IN WHMWhen
you use Two-factor authentication, an application on your mobile phone
or smartphone generates a security code that you will have to enter
along with your password. In case you do not provide security code, it
would be failed to login. If this is enabled, you must have to enter the
code.
To configure Two-factor authentication for your hosting account, you need to follow these steps:
1.Log in to your Web Host Manager with user name and password.
2.Search for Two-factor authentication and click on it.
3.It will show you if this is enabled or disabled on server.
4.You can change this to enable and it will take you to the next step.
5.Click the Settings tab. In the Issuer text box, type the name you want to use.
6.Click Save.
7.Click
the Manage My Account tab, and then click on setup Two-Factor
Authentication. This creates a link between your account and your
Two-factor authentication app:
•To automatically create the link, scan the displayed QR code on the screen with your app.
•To manually create the link, type the provided Account and Key information into your app.
8.In the Security Code text box, type the code that appears in your app.
9.Click Configure Two-Factor Authentication. Two-factor authentication is now active for your account.
MANAGING TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION FOR YOUR USERSIn
addition to your own account, you can manage Two-factor authentication
for your user accounts. To do this, follow these steps:
1.Log in to Web Host Manager.
2.In
the search box at the upper left of the WHM screen, start typing
factor, and then click Two-Factor Authentication when it becomes
visible:
3.Click the Manage Users tab:
•To disable
Two-factor authentication for a specific user account, under Actions,
click Disable. Alternatively, you can select the check box next to the
account, click the gear icon at the top right of the list, and then
click Remove Selected.
•To disable Two-factor authentication for
all of your user accounts, click the gear icon at the top right of the
list, and then select Disable All.
